Snow_Emergency_PICWhat is a snow Emergency?
A snow emergency may be declared by the Mayor if snow fall or other dangerous winter weather is forecast.  A snow emergency declaration means that both residents and borough service providers need to prepare for inclement and possibly dangerous weather conditions.  All residents and businesses along the Snow Emergency Routes shall remove all parked vehicles from those streets.  All vehicles shall then remain off those streets until the Snow Emergency has been lifted.  These messages will be announced via CODE RED, on the BOROUGH WEBSITE, on social media and on local radio/TV stations.

Designated Snow Emergency Routes

Once a Snow Emergency is declared, removing snow within the travel lanes on Snow Emergency Routes is the priority.  Routes are designated to provide primary feeders for traffic moving through the borough.

The following streets within the borough have been designated with priority status and the snow removal efforts will concentrate on these streets:

Main Street                  Leesport Avenue                 East Wall Street
West Wall Street         Railroad Avenue                  Lee Street

Once snow is removed from all Snow Emergency Routes, the snow removal will concentrate on other streets. Any vehicle not removed from the Snow Emergency Routes shall be subject to a parking fine and or the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense.  Please plan ahead to find alternate parking.
